Monolite is a kind of designer’s desire to convey a sense of calm and pacification by of clothes, it is a try to give a protection from the destructiveness of the modern world. The main element of the collection is the use of ancient techniques of finishing fabrics which return to the first folk art and bring a sense of belonging to the eternal and unshakable. The main inspiration is outsiders’ art, which is free from cultural patterns and academic traditionalism. Deliberately rough raw seams, chaotic embroidery, flashing prints, wool fringe resemble primitive folk creations. The use of natural eco-materials caused soft color palette of milk, graphite, beige and steel. The designer continues to combine textures showing oversized coats and skirts in a pair with a light transparent tops and textured mohair dresses with an aggressive finishing. Exploring the modern utopian society, Yana Chervinska is sinking in the illusion of absolute system which is functioning outside the accepted laws and cultural traditions.
